Joomla! modules add functionality to your website, and provide many of the interactive features offered in the Joomla! Loaded package. Each module is designed to perform a specific function, and can be associated with a component, or standalone.

Modules usually appear as sideblocks in the left or right columns, although it is possible to position them anywhere on the page. They are simple to turn on and off, and are easily moved to different positions, or shown only on specific pages. This flexibility gives you the control to create, and maintain, a professional looking site that works the way you want it to.
